The director of Bradenton Counseling Center, Inc., Jane Pavich, MSW, LCSW, ACSW is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in individual and couple therapy, and individuals or families dealing with caregiving or issues of aging. Jane is not accepting new clients at this time.
Jane had a private practice in Bradenton for 22 years before founding Bradenton Counseling Center, Inc. in 2010. She received her MSW from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has been licensed in Florida as a social worker (LCSW – FL license # SW 2098) since 1988. She was accredited by the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) in 1991. Jane has experience helping individuals and couples sort out issues including depression and loneliness, panic attacks and social anxiety, couples growing apart, infidelity, parenting issues with children and stepchildren, and caregiving for a partner or parent.
Prior to starting her private practice, Jane worked at non-profit agencies doing adoption home studies and counseling victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and rape. Jane was cofounder and director of a local program for sexually abused children and adolescent sex offenders. She has done outreach work in both Haiti and in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Jane’s treatment approach starts with listening closely to her client’s concerns and helping them create a picture of how they want their life to be. That second step of creating a clear picture of what the client wishes for the future is very important. With that goal in mind, Jane can choose appropriate methods to guide the client along the path to where they want to be, using her skills from years of counseling experience.
Jane’s personal experiences help her understand many counseling issues. Jane has been married to her high school sweetheart since 1977. They have 3 adult sons, the youngest of whom served 5 years as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, three wonderful daughters-in-law and three delightful grandsons. Jane is a caregiver for her disabled mother.
Jane is a member of National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Manatee Aging Network (MAN), and Women’s Resource Center.
